How we work
How we work
OUR PROCESS
A tried and tested formula for a successful project.
Over the years, we’ve developed a standard process we apply to every project. We always follow the same steps, in the same order, but the time required for each will depend on your particular circumstances.
INITIAL CONSULTATION
The process of creating bespoke cabinetry begins with a consultation. This first stage is incredibly important in the project. We’ll take a brief, which can be as loose or as detailed as you wish; We will talk with you to discuss your vision and preferences for your custom cabinetry as well as the budget.
INITIAL SITE SURVEY
If you already have architectural drawings, we can skip this part and work from them instead. If you dont we will come to you and take measurements of your home, room or workplace, We’ll use them as a basis for our design, and to ensure its technical feasibility.
CONCEPT STAGE
We’ll prepare layouts showing how each piece will work, as well inspiration images to show how it will look. The aim at this stage is to give you options to consider, and provide the information and advice you need to make confident, informed decisions with an overall goal in mind.
DETAIL DESIGN STAGE
Once you’ve decided on your concept, we need to translate it into a formal design proposal. This is when you’ll decide on materials, colours, finishes, accesories. We will produce a detailed 3d design of the piece that will be the basis for the quotation.
COSTING STAGE
We can bring everything together to provide a full cost breakdown. If other trades are involved we will also obtain quotes from those. However, you’re free to hire your own contractors if you wish, in which case we’ll be happy to provide drawings and specifications for them to price up for you.
DETAILED SITE SURVEY
Once we recieve confirmation of your order the deposit we will carry a detailed site survey, confirming every measurement an detail.
SHOP DRAWINGS
We will prepare detailed shop drawings for your approval, showing elevations and cross sections, which will show every detail of the design, those will also include information required by other trades such as builders/ plumbers or electricians. Those will also include specification, confirmation of materials, finishes and fittings. Here we will also have the opportunity to introduce required changes propr to manufacturing.
MANUFACTURING STAGE
The production and manufacturing phase involves the creation of custom cabinetry. During this phase, the design is brought to life and the cabinetry is crafted to the homeowner’s exact specifications. Once the cabinetry is complete, installation can begin.
INSTALLATION STAGE
This is when project comes to life, it can take one or several days depending on the complexity of the work. Our team of fitters will carry the work in the professional manner making sure surrounding areas are protected and workspace is tidy.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND AFTERCARE
Your project means as much to us as it does to you, so we’ll remain closely involved throughout. We’ll always be available to answer questions and queries, check drawings and specifications, resolve issues and generally keep tabs on things so you don’t have to.
ORGANISATION, PROCUREMENT & INSTALLATION OF FIXTURES AND FITTINGS
It’s likely that your project will incorporate some specialist items, products or finishes. We can obtain them for you, so you can be confident they’re exactly the right specification, and bring in trusted experts to ensure they’re fitted correctly, and to the required standard.
